Hahaha, i love the idea of a "gay shield" against tornadoes. Great story, thanks for sharing.

Strangely, I was with my local atheist group, at a pool party, when the first bout of tornadoes blew through North Carolina (with the 60-something that were reported touching down.  The east side of Raleigh got hit pretty hard.  Chapel Hill was missed completely.

I credit my atheist group.  We had a new member who is a gay, ex-Mormon.  We were all clustered around him, asking questions and generally making him feel like a bit of a celebrity.  The focus on him must have generated enough of a gay shield to protect all of Chapel Hill.

I will also point out that The News has already sort of moved on when the cleanup's barely begun here. The campus is fine, and at least the lower section of Tuscaloosa is fine--but a lot of the main businesses we'd visit for late-night food--they're all gone. I was planning on visiting Full Moon BBQ and Krispy Kreme before I left Friday. So much for that.

I'm alright--I was actually on the UA campus and got this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q3mLGk1QxS0 Which it was both terrifying and exhilirating--right now the biggest problem is the amount of "we're praying for you--god was on your side!" I'm getting.
It ran right through the center of Tuscaloosa--two main streets--McFarland and 15th--15th is gone, McFarland is just now passable during certain parts of the day. To steal a quote--the Destruction is Unreal--that part of the city, which was once lit up with businesses and neon from a krispy kreme and Full Moon BBQ--is now just broken buildings and cop cars guarding the streets.
And yeah, you probably will see it in another 30 years or so--the last outbread hit in the 70's, and previously it was the 1930's--so every 30 years or so there's a big outbreak like this.

Of course they would dig through their ruins, find pieces of a laptop put it back together, go to atheistnexus.org under atheist singles and let us know that their ok lmfao that was awesome. However it was a very nice thought. I believe the world is coming to an end all due to religion and its evil.

Err, if they're not alright, how would they tell us?

Is everyone all right after the tornadoes that have ripped through the Southeast? Saw the one from Tuscaloosa/Birmingham yesterday on the news and an on-line stream - WOW!! NEVER have seen anything like that before, and I hope I never do again.

People will come up with ANYTHING to try to make their mythology seem more real.

I have a friend (a real practicing Catholic...actually does readings in church on Sundays) who thought, and I mean literally thought that JC was floating around in outer space with all his flesh and bones and what not...and that is after 12 years of a catholic school that we went to together...I never bought any of that bs but that was a bit extreme.

Isn't he showing up May 21st?  Or was it 6 months later that he's showing up?
