although, I would like to mention that I misread her statement "I am a WOMAN" as "I want a WOMAN," as that was the reason I thought she was a lesbian.

I think you need to look over the posts again. I was insulted several times before I pointed out the obvious: Maruli is a sexist, hastily insecur4, condescending, pretentious, presumptuous, and arrogant. I was insulted by her for voicing my opinion, not the opposite. I'm done here.

This particular youtube production stinks of idiocy. Only a stupid idiot would juxtapose soft porn onto a scientific lecture. These objectified women belong in a medium (magazine, video, whatever) for personal viewing.

The first stupidity, in my eyes it was an affront to science and rational thinking by the person having made the video, was this juxtaposition.
The second stupidity trophy goes to the person who posted it here. The third stupidity is for males on this AN singles group to belittle the opinions of females on this site for simply expressing their opinion, as Brandon did to Maruli. Women on a singles page are allowed to express their opinions of a video without being backlashed.

He could have simply stated he disagreed with Maruli without putting her down. That would have been the mature and sentient behaviour. It is there that Brandon failed.

These types of happenings are one of the reasons fewer females come to atheist groups. Simple lack of respect in the way people discuss.

Ah.  TNT was going a little heavy on the blanket statements, admittedly.

"Any time you dismiss female objectification," for example.  Gotta pick your battles.  You're going to get a little objectification, due to the basic nature of the male mind.  You've got to come down on the egregious examples ... which ... I dunno, this video very well may have been such an example.

... but then Maruli just went completely berserk about it and muddied the issue too much for me to care about it anymore.

It is pretty warped, yeah.  I think Maruli's reaction is a little over the top, but it is pretty stupid and pointless.  I think Kelly hit it more or less dead on.

The fact that someone would take a lecture and string together a slideshow like that over it ... dude, what's wrong with you?  Saying that there's someone on YouTube with no sense of context is a little obvious though, isn't it?
