Does anyone here use okcupid?  Starting yesterday I am no longer able to log in.  The sight just always says "we are having technical difficulties.  Check back later."  So I keep clicking on "forgot your password" even though I actually did not forget my password.  And I'm an A-list member.  And me and a girl had been corresponding and has send over 50 messages back and fourth since for the last 5 weeks and I have no other way to contact her.

I don't visit the site every five minutes, and there doesn't seem to be any notification when someone accepts a Friend invitation.  By the time I happen to visit my home page and discover that someone is a Friend, I've completely forgotten the reason I wanted to send that person a message in the first place.  Maybe it was a forum comment?  I no longer have any idea.  As I said, it's mildly annoying.

Yeah, it seems a little redundant, too, when the block controls are right on hand, in blatantly obvious places.  There's always the option of placing comments on someone's profile page, but that's a little iffy when it's something that's of a relatively private nature.
