That's part of why I'm so eager to set up an atheist pub night. We could all use a little support

I think there's more of us out there than we know, Glen. The problem is, here in religious rich Alberta, many have trouble "coming out" so to speak. I can't help but notice that many members on Atheist Nexus don't give their real name. I realize some have other reasons, but I can't help but wonder if they aren't ready to go public even on this site? Be an interesting topic for discussion, but I'm not sure which group one would put it on...

I'd love to meet up Carisa, but Calgary's a bit of a drive for me (I'm in Red Deer). Looks like there are a few people here from Calgary though... :)

Hey Carisa, I might slip down occasionally, but being 1 1/2 - 2 hours away probably not bi-weekly...Red Deer, yes and if anyone starts something in Edmonton, I could make it more often.

Maybe a once or twice yearly party for the province??

Hooray!!I just joined a few days ago!
I was hoping there was a group for Albertans!
I grew up in Calgary and now live in Edmonton.
So happy to find this group!

Welcome Glen and Ory!

Glen, I have some family in Taber and I know exactly what you're talking about. :)

Hi Lori...I'm just 30 min north of Red Deer (Lacombe area). Does that count? I know my 18 year old son feels very much the same as you. BTW, had a little trouble navigating this site to find this particular group, but obviously I found it (^_^).
