The setting is this new zombie apocalypses craze, a la Walking Dead or WWZ, neither of which I have every seen. I don't make time for this genre of story telling. I am not above it or against it, I just don't make time for it. I read this book because I sensed it had something to say about AA life and it does.
Addicts in this story aren't as yummy to zombies. It's never explicitly said why but maybe they idea it that we are already among the walking dead. Imagine a society that had nothing left but 12 Step zombies vs. walking dead dummies?
See where I am coming from. This is an interesting idea. It isn't about dogma vs. atheism in 12 Step rooms but the story line will include something familiar for any who have felt flanked by passive-aggressive shot-taking on all sides.
