Greetings all you freethinking runners.  Luckily I get to run in the rain a lot living in the PNW. I'm 51 and training for my first half in 5 weeks.  I could use a super slow running buddy for the women's Vancouver WA Susan Komen half October 16th.  I'm going to get an Atheist T-shirt to wear for the run in order to get in some gentle advertising.

Hey fellow runners, I'm running the 1st annual Milwaukee  Rock n Sole Summerfest half marathon in July, now I would expect  a bigger city like Chicago to have a good number of Atheists but how about Milwaukee (my hometown no less)? Do I need to wear my atheist t-shirt to bring us out of the wood work, lol?

I started running in Oct 2009 to lose weight, then a friend talked me into running a 5K event with her, and I was hooked. One year later I had two 1/2 marathons under my belt and had just finished my 1st full marathon (The final Lewis & Clark Marathon in St Charles, MO). Just this morning I started training for my 2nd full marathon. Central Illinois, 20 degrees, 3 miles on a mix of asphalt and packed snow! Awesome fun!

I do. A cooling drizzle is what I like best. There's one thing I sometimes avoid, though: a combination of wind and rain when tempuratures are low. Wet and wind-chill don't go together here in Denmark where it's only just above freezing at the moment and we're having the first snow of the year.

Woot! Went for a run in the rain tonight- at 60F it was chilly but invigorating! Ah, late November in Chicago. :) Who else likes to go running when it's raining?

How was the Wine and Dine Half, Susan?! I wanted to do that race this year, but had to work. :-( Are you in Florida?

I love running! Sort of a new passion for me though. How did you all start running? I started because I needed an escape from work stress.

How is the training going Susan?
Did you get back into it yet Zippy?
I'm ready to get back into it as well after almost a year off now.
