Games I like in no particular order:

AD&D 2nd edition, honestly I've had some stripped-down old school fun with AD&D Basic too, especially if you add monster races and other tweaks.

d% systems are my all time favorites, RuneQuest, Call of Cthluhu. I have this sort of nerdy mental disorder where I can't help keeping mental character sheets for people I know, estimating their Drive Auto and Credit Rating and Notice and whatnot, so... yea, Chaosium is huge for me.

GURPS, Savage Worlds, the CyberPunk world is fun, the system is just so-so, one cool thing is that you can use the NetRunner card game to resolve the 'net aspects of the game, that was a really fun wrinkle for my group. L5R was great for a while, so was WarHammer.

FANTASY WARGAMING - The Highest Level of Fantasy is a sort of RPG wargame hybrid that I like.

I've played a load of wargames recently, (Great War, WW2, Napoleonic, ancient, in that order) but I'm such a newbie I can't pick a favorite system there, or really even comment much on them, other than to say I want to play MORE WarGames. I've played Ain't Been Shot Ma, Field of Glory, Battlefield Commander, Mud & the Blood, stuff like that. loads of homebrews too. Maul of America was fun.
Guild Wars is the only game that kept me interested for a long time. When Guild Wars 2 comes out I don't think there will be any game that can compare to it :)
