If I were a voting Democrat USA citizen, I'd do all I could to favour the least likely-to-win GOP candidate :)

I am in no way interested in running for public office, HOWEVER, I am interested in helping organize a campaign.  I guess I will be waiting a loooong time since I live in TN and there is practically NO chance an open atheist could get elected here as things are right now.  I DO think that it might be possible for someone who might not be an open atheist.  I'm finding more and more acceptance here, and I think the more of us there are, who are open about our non belief, the more it will HAVE to be accepted and eventually represented. 

Anything I can do to help that.......I'm IN!!

I most certainly hope that in the next coming years i'll be able to see a local atheist run for office, or going national would be nice too. I like many godless ones wish to promote atheists to be more public and for the closeted ones to come out the closet. We all need to do our part, i personally have taken it upon myself to employ the socratic method much more often in public, especially when i hear ignorance that stems from superstition.

Welcome to the electoral process! I did so at 24 with Green party. I got 6.5% I think the party achieved 4% overall, but did get a whopping 13% in one riding. Too bad with have British styled elections, I wish we had elections more like Switzerland...

Had a non-celebration on 79th birth date anniversary last Saturday. Wondering how much age has to do with political success at the local level. Achieved 5.7% of vote in recent local contest for legislature as Libertarian ... only listed on the ballot (no expenditures, no advertising).

Thank you John Kerry for the mandate of insurance companies to pay for intercessory prayer as medical procedures, but still denying payment for a legal procedure, even in the case of necessity or rape.
