Comment by Aiden on April 7, 2012 at 2:44pm Like Pinko, I'm definitely in hockey mode until the Pens win it or get knocked out. Then it's on to watching the Pirates work on their 20th consecutive losing season until football season hits.
Comment by Ron Dicks on April 5, 2012 at 1:39pm Guess I'm optimistic that people are basically good and when you know better, you try to do better. People who are making millions of dollars may be swayed to do better with the threat that they can lose their jobs, lose a lot of money or face criminal charges. Those who aren't swayed can face the consequences.

Comment by Pinko Knitter on April 5, 2012 at 1:15pm No, Chera, you aren't the only female here, but right now I'm in hockey mode. Stanley Cup playoffs are just around the corner. I won't even think about football until after The Cup is hoisted in June, hopefully by Sid and company. Let's go, Pens!
Of course you can. When the Army Sergeant recently killed 16 civillians (including 9 children) in their homes we (at least I) were surprised and saddend. There are limits and just because some amount of violence is permitted doesn't mean it's permissible to financially induce players to "take out" another player and tell him you'll pay him more if the guy is carted off the field. It's, in the least, negligent. While I may be godless I'm not without morals and this behavior deserves the punishment dealt. If other teams are doing it, maybe this will sway them to stop.
Comment by Chera Pickett on April 5, 2012 at 12:48pm No, I don't think we should be surprised that some take it too far, however it doesn't mean that we except it and do nothing about it either. There have always been bounties in some form or another but that doesn't make them right. I think it's great that someone is finally standing up and saying this isn't okay.
Comment by Ron Dicks on April 5, 2012 at 12:42pm Yes, there are players who hit to hurt and take pride in it. No proof that players on other teams are told who to take out with a dollar amount attached to it. If they are, it's wrong and those coaches aren't stupid enough to tape themselves doing it!
