Will that justify the first round pick Al Davis spent on him?
A little note: Of the three 63-yarders in NFL history, two happened in Denver (altitude) and the other was a guy with a special shoe covering half a foot. I also think most NFL coaches might be too afraid of criticism to try these very often, so I'm not holding my breath.
But if anybody now playing could do it, it's that guy.
Special memory: I was watching a post-game telecast in 1970 when the crew announced that New Orleans was lining up for a 63-yard field goal. They all laughed and then signed off the air. The next day I found out the kick was good.
It probably wouldn't happen that way today.
