Atheist News Podcast Project

Hey guys.

I probably shouldn't put this off anymore, so I'm just going to jump on it and improvise. I'm pretty sure the show is over. It was a ton of fun doing it, but with work and my son and my wife in school I simply don't have time to do it anymore.

Other folks have offered to take over but I don't really feel comfortable with that. Quit while you're ahead, sez I.

Anyhow, I payed for another year of hosting, so the archive of podcasts will be available for at least that long.

I really enjoyed podcasting, so I might do something again in the future. I'll keep you posted.

Thanks guys and gals! It was AMAZING.

Love,

--Joe

Mary Wood: But I've long since concluded that ignorance is our greatest enemy. Teach people to think logically, critically, rationally, and much of the supernatural bullshit will melt away naturally.

You should tell that to the conspiracy theorists that reside here. I continue to get horrified at the degree of diseased thinking that exists here unchecked. Calling them on their bullshit, and they exhibit the exact same defense mechanisms that the creationists and new agers do. I consider conspiracy loons to be indistinguishable religious ones - faith in spooks is faith in spooks.

The "small step" on moondust is all over the news today on the 40th year since we began to litter the Great Night Light in the Sky. Could non-theists help lead the way to the establishment of an international Moon Wilderness Park? A wild, lunatic idea. . .but it's crazier to let all these nations smash ships into it and make more craters all in the name of "using" the Moon for getting more lost in space. Check out all the great moon music too! Take a Giant Leap, Humankind!

I think something similar has been posted here, but this is a radio show on the same topic:

Unscientific America
A new Pew Research Center poll has found most Americans don't believe in evolution, don't think climate change is human-induced, and don't know that electrons are smaller than atoms. Journalist Chris Mooney says the findings point to America's collective scientific illiteracy. He co-authored the book "Unscientific America" and talks with host Jeff Young about what's at stake if we don't get our science straight.

Your story about the Canadian Prime Minister and the holy cracker reminds me when I was about 10. I went with a friend to his church service. When it was time for communion my friend's mom asked if I was Catholic. I had no idea. In this church you had to go up to priest. I decided to go ahead up. Of course I had no idea what I was supposed to do. The priest placed the wafer in my palms. I proceeded to walk down the aisle back to my seat still with the wafer in my upward palms with everyone staring at me.

Little did I know I was holding the living body of a dead guy who probably never existed.

Just another wacky idea, it's ok to eat the body just don't take it with you.
