Atheist News Podcast Project

Hey guys.

I probably shouldn't put this off anymore, so I'm just going to jump on it and improvise. I'm pretty sure the show is over. It was a ton of fun doing it, but with work and my son and my wife in school I simply don't have time to do it anymore.

Other folks have offered to take over but I don't really feel comfortable with that. Quit while you're ahead, sez I.

Anyhow, I payed for another year of hosting, so the archive of podcasts will be available for at least that long.

I really enjoyed podcasting, so I might do something again in the future. I'll keep you posted.

Thanks guys and gals! It was AMAZING.

Love,

--Joe

That sounds a lot like the sort of thing I rail against.  Absolute certainty is a worthless standard to hold a claim to.  Any but the most dishonest theists (mostly the presuppositional apologetics idiots) admit to some degree of uncertainty in everything.  You can't know anything with absolute confidence, when you come right down to it.

It's stupid to expect absolute certainty from atheists, when you don't maintain that standard for anything else.  Forget default atheism, which is sufficient to embrace the label of atheist.  I'm a strong atheist, at least in regards to the Abrahamic god.  I'm positive that the god they worship doesn't exist, to any degree that it's worth worrying about certainty.

For anyone still in the dark about Bradley Manning.

Bradley Manning's still a Good ol' Girl.

I don't believe it's been tested in the courts, yet.  Seems to me that the whole voucher program is unconstitutional, on first amendment grounds.  The government giving money to send kids to religious schools seems like an obvious violation.

I don't know that the courts will rule that way.

I have a question that has come to mind through communication. It has to do with Separation of Church and State. School Vouchers. The State of Louisiana does School Vouchers. This 2 me means as a taxpayer My taxes go 2 Public ,Private and Parochial Schools where Vouchers are concerned. What happens when P & R Schools have more Vouchers than Paying Parents? Is Louisiana paying for baby sitting with taxpayers $'s&cents?

I have many e-friends who were raised in seriously religious families, and subjected to threats of hell, and other ugly doctrines at a very early age. ALL of them suffered from nightmares for years, and all of them are now atheists.

HOW did they (and I) become freethinkers, non-believers, etc.?  At some point we each read the entire buybull for different reasons; many of us were trying to bolster our "failing" faith, or looking for answers.  We all came out of the experience knowing that the whole thing was preposterous...UN-believable. It's the best cure for religionism that I know of.

Most believers know less about their holy books than non-believers because they've never read the entire things.

@ Dr. Hosie

A retired physician who is NOT aware of diseases like tuberculosis that have become antibiotic-resistant over the past 50 or 60 years? How else to explain that phenomenon except that the bacilli (and many strains of bacteria) that were susceptible to antibiotics died out, and the ones that were NOT thrived? Natural selection.  Duh!

Anti-evolutionists should not be allowed within 1,000 yards of public schools.  Put them to work wearing signs that say "Intellectually Blind" or "In Denial" and let them sell pencils on street corners.

I was in high school (and an indifferent Baptist) in the mid 1950s, and after graduation, I became a chorus girl (a job usually considered suited for dumb bimbos only), and I NEVER doubted that evolution was the way we got here. It wasn't an issue, not even in church.
