Atheist News Podcast Project

Hey guys.

I probably shouldn't put this off anymore, so I'm just going to jump on it and improvise. I'm pretty sure the show is over. It was a ton of fun doing it, but with work and my son and my wife in school I simply don't have time to do it anymore.

Other folks have offered to take over but I don't really feel comfortable with that. Quit while you're ahead, sez I.

Anyhow, I payed for another year of hosting, so the archive of podcasts will be available for at least that long.

I really enjoyed podcasting, so I might do something again in the future. I'll keep you posted.

Thanks guys and gals! It was AMAZING.

Love,

--Joe

I used to have to sing that song for chapel (private school and all).. I know the song very well. I have it memorized.

Yeah .. that song is scary.

Greg, you wrote, "Interesting how they missed that the weapons are not of this world, and that the armor was 'god's' - no armor needed when the creator of the universe is on one's side, right?"

Oh yes! I remember well putting on the armor of god ... believing love, peace and justice came through the strength of the blade and warrior.

Perhaps a film showing a mother hen protecting her chicks from the bright and hot sun is not appropriate for such a film. No! that would never work.

That's two and a half minutes of my life I will never get back.

Thank you all for commenting on that video.  It's a reminder that we need to keep our eyes open about religiosity.  Accomodationism has its appeal, and the idea of "moving on" is important, but as long as we have these crusaders of, whatever they are crusading for, eternal vigilance is needed.  Plus it's nice to see that others are as outraged as I am.

Watched with the volume off, so forgive me if they explained it. Why is the dude dressed like a Roman soldier of all things? Is he gonna put a spear in the side of Jebus next?

That "bootcamp promo" is the most disgusting, outrageous, obscene video I can imagine; it was produced as a promotion? What on earth do these men think decency and strength looks like? Certainly not anything I respect.

Comment by Joan Denoo on April 5, 2012 at 10:52pm

A woman with wise judgment, good character, strong will, standing up for and with her family to protect the community from all forms of abuse, to recognize oppression when it occurs, to take stands, privately and publicly against domination, who provides a model of thoughtful and insightful understanding of different personalities and who can provide an environment where each individual has the safety of self-expression, while maintaining boundaries of decency, responsibility and compassion. Where the highest value is seeing and hearing others as she expresses her own nature.

Comment by Joan Denoo on April 5, 2012 at 10:45pm

Does being a christian man mean swords, blood, domination, killing, oppressing? What about the man who watches over his family, tenderly touching them with expressions of love, having a child at his elbow learning the skills of maintaining a home and protecting the family with vigilance and steadfastness? Gently loving the mother of his children, firmly and kindly upholding responsible behavior of all family members?

Does a greater man than this exist?

Christian summer camp.

I imagine the ladies version will show women in bonnets, scrubbing the floor.
