Atheist News Podcast Project

Hey guys.

I probably shouldn't put this off anymore, so I'm just going to jump on it and improvise. I'm pretty sure the show is over. It was a ton of fun doing it, but with work and my son and my wife in school I simply don't have time to do it anymore.

Other folks have offered to take over but I don't really feel comfortable with that. Quit while you're ahead, sez I.

Anyhow, I payed for another year of hosting, so the archive of podcasts will be available for at least that long.

I really enjoyed podcasting, so I might do something again in the future. I'll keep you posted.

Thanks guys and gals! It was AMAZING.

Love,

--Joe

Does being a christian man mean swords, blood, domination, killing, oppressing? What about the man who watches over his family, tenderly touching them with expressions of love, having a child at his elbow learning the skills of maintaining a home and protecting the family with vigilance and steadfastness? Gently loving the mother of his children, firmly and kindly upholding responsible behavior of all family members?

Does a greater man than this exist?

Sadly, yes, violence appears in all kinds of relationships and when it happens between people who need to trust and care for one another, the pain runs so deeply, it is difficult to change. My experience has been that very few families build healthy families after experiencing loss of trust and care. Many couples make heroic efforts to change but there are so many triggers, the old patterns too often return.

The healthiest family I have ever been with is a lesbian couple with three children born of one of the women and the other functioned as her partner. They are almost grown now, do well in school, sports, music, and have great friends. I wish all families could have such environments.

I used to have romantic notions about the rational performance of homosexuals, be it in child rearing, violence, etc. But through the years, I've gotten over that. Homosexual couples experience domestic violence at similar rates to heterosexual couples. So it's not about "they" or "us" being better or not... just saying.
