Atheist News Podcast Project

Hey guys.

I probably shouldn't put this off anymore, so I'm just going to jump on it and improvise. I'm pretty sure the show is over. It was a ton of fun doing it, but with work and my son and my wife in school I simply don't have time to do it anymore.

Other folks have offered to take over but I don't really feel comfortable with that. Quit while you're ahead, sez I.

Anyhow, I payed for another year of hosting, so the archive of podcasts will be available for at least that long.

I really enjoyed podcasting, so I might do something again in the future. I'll keep you posted.

Thanks guys and gals! It was AMAZING.

Love,

--Joe

Michael, this sounds like a very important book that may help silence the "hitler/atheist" claims. One of your chapters listed Louise Erdrich. I am aware of her writing life with her husband Michael Dorris and  appreciated their challenges, but did not know he committed suicide. I am looking forward to reading your book. Thanks.

Michael I searched amazon for your book.  As far as I can tell, you have another title there but not that one.  Looks like it is in prerelease.  I did click on "tell publisher you would like it on kindle".  Please correct me if I am wrong.  Daniel

Michael, it sounds fascinating, as does your other work.  I will see if I can buy a download via amazon.  Just a reminder, whenever people buy via the Amazon link on nexus - on the right sidebar, looks like the image below.  Then some $$ goes to support this website.   Thanks for posting.

For many years I had been told that Hitler and the Nazis did what they did because they were atheists.  About fifteen years ago, I started to do research to see if this were true, and I discovered that it is not.  About six years ago, I started writing a book in order to demonstrate that Hitler and the Nazis consistently believed themselves to be Christian, and I worked very hard to define the specific version of Christianity they adopted.  The book was released a couple days ago.  For those of you who get really irritated with Christians when they try to smear atheists by linking them with Hitler and the Nazis, you might find the book worth reading.  Here's the link to the book: http://uwww.continuumbooks.com/books/detail.aspx?BookId=166691&...

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.

All Best,

michael

Wait, wasn't this story done on the History channel or maybe discovery a couple years ago. I know I watched it. Supposedly Mary and Jesus brother was in there. Of course all of it was supposedly removed and buried in an unknown location. I do remember they mentioned that of this time the names was as common as Smith and Jones. Grasping straws sounds lime. Really.

Comment by Sentient Biped on February 29, 2012 at 6:22pm

It looks like the purpose of the article is to be a teaser for the book.  A discovery made in 2010, now being reported on.  If it WAS the tomb of Jesus, then either Jesus left the tomb, or he was buried in it.  I guess if he left the tomb they might have put some stuff in there that said "Jesus was here".  If he was buried in it, then the resurrection was not what we were taught.  They are claiming that Jesus was buried in it.  In fact, they are claiming that one ossuary contained the bones of Jesus' son Judah.  Maybe he's in a "lost book of the bible", locked somewhere deep in the Vatican basement so that the world's catholics will not doubt.  That would mean, of course, that Jesus had sex.  I looked at a variety of websites about this find, and I still can't escape that it's all what JP states, tenuous coincidences and wishful thinking.

Comment by Joseph P on February 29, 2012 at 10:24am
Yeah, I've heard about these before. They're complete bullshit. They stretch the most tenuous coincidences and fill in the HUGE gaps with wishful thinking.

What does "evidence of faith" mean?

Comment by Sandi on February 29, 2012 at 6:39am

Something, something about discovering where jesus may have been buried, possibly.

"The discovery provides the earliest archaeological evidence of faith in Jesus' resurrection from the dead, the first witness to a saying of Jesus that predates even the writing of our New Testament gospels, and the earliest example of Christian art, all found in a sealed tomb dated to the 1st century CE."

Ye Gads! What will people dream up next for a new religion and beliefs?  I think we are better off going back to nature and just paying attention to what we do, how it affects our environment and our community, and then be more compassionate!
