Atheist News Podcast ProjectHey guys. I probably shouldn't put this off anymore, so I'm just going to jump on it and improvise. I'm pretty sure the show is over. It was a ton of fun doing it, but with work and my son and my wife in school I simply don't have time to do it anymore. Other folks have offered to take over but I don't really feel comfortable with that. Quit while you're ahead, sez I. Anyhow, I payed for another year of hosting, so the archive of podcasts will be available for at least that long. I really enjoyed podcasting, so I might do something again in the future. Jessica, you are welcome to claim the "Perdition" name as you wish! We could also add a scouting version, and call it "The Children of Perdition". You are right, the baptising of dead people is creepy, meaningless, and a strange sort of intrusion into other families lives. I would also like to hear about why there is such a focus on holocaust victims.

Just out of curiosity do you know why Holocaust victims are of special interest? Having relatives whose time, date and location of murder by the SS are publicly available online I wonder about them. Even though I know it's meaningless I find the idea of Mormons secretly baptizing them creepy and insulting. Is there a list kept? Also who decides which people are baptized?

Some " clarification" ? from an ex-Mormon here. These baptisims have no effect unless the person who has been baptised accepts them. In Mormon theology, when you die, you either go to paradise or spirit prison. Generally speaking, paradise are for those who are Mormons, or some others that lived an acceptable life here on earth, while spirit prison is for those who "died in darkness" never having had the chance of hearing of Christ. The people in paradise go to spirit prison and preach the gospel, and those that accept Mormonism there are saved and become members of the church. It should be noted that Mormons are basically universalists, that the only people that are thrown into outer darkness [Hell] are those who have rejected the church and Christ [like me]. Also known as sons of perdition. So I got that to look forward to. However, my friend, if I may call you that, Mr. Sentient Biped, will make it to heaven, albiet a very low level. Sorry about your luck.
