Reading the story, it sounds more like things went bad, she feared for her life from the guy and acted in what she thought was self-defense. Though there are lots of holes and the way she described it doesn't fit with someone whose life is in danger.
However guilty, there's nothing in the details given so far to suggest she ritualistically killed the guy.
