Permalink Reply by sk8eycat on January 26, 2012 at 11:51am I've read that some pro-banner nits claimed that the thing is "historical." It's been there for less than 50 years (because the school didn't exist till 1963), and I don't consider that "historical."
They should have known better than to install it iin the first place because one year before that the Supreme Court ruled that sectarian prayers and buybull readings in taxpayer-supported schools were unconstitutional. I wonder if the school, or the district, were just too cheap to consult a constitutional lawyer when Ms. Ahlquist first brought the matter up, and then were too stubborn, or embarrassed, to admit they were wrong.
