Opponents say that it would legalize child abuse

Supporters say the measure is needed to protect religion in North Dakota from efforts such as initiatives requiring religious institutions to provide contraception coverage.

Government already intrudes on bible diktat because it PREVENTS child abuse, among multiple other actions condoned and, indeed, encouraged by the bible.

That law would almost de facto permit the application of Mosaic law in North Dakota ... and that should scare the living crap out of anyone who actually KNOWS the bible ... though most churchgoers wouldn't qualify.

Freier disagrees, noting that his attorneys have stated that the Family Alliance is not trying to legalize child abuse or domestic violence. Freier also said the measure has limits to the religious freedom it allows -- it would not legalize Sharia law.

"Basically this is a tactic," Freier said. "This would in no way allow anyone the protection to beat their wife or marry a 12-year-old or allow for Sharia law."

This guy is a fucking moron.  He probably truly believes that it will allow good Christians to do things based upon the Bible but not allow Muslims to take actions based upon the Koran.
