umm, yay!?
Only one thing: if Portugal's economy crumbles as did Greece's, the Catholic Church will not have to look far for convenient scapegoats.
If Joe the Schmoe wants to pull a Pat Robertson and blame such an event on the secularization of Portugal, he only makes himself look as stupid as Pat does (which really isn't that much of a stretch!).
Yet look how many followers Pat Robertson has. Stupidity is a common disease.
I have a quote on my computer background right now that says it well: There are more idiots then there are people.
Correction:

There are more fools in the world than there are people.

- Heinrich Heine
They could already blame it on the abortion law in 2007, so I don't really this makes that much difference.

All those gay weddings might shore up the economy anyways...haven't you seen Prop 8 the musical?
LOVE "Prop 8 The Musical."

"It's a brand new bright Obama day!
What a time to be black, a girl, or gay!"
Portugal FTW!!!

Caltholic church takes another hit. Everybody keep swinging.
I am happy for the gay couple having their marriage legalized, but quite frankly, why even want to be part of such an institution. Surely two people can find better legal options than marriage to identify property transfers, durable power of attorney, hospital visitation rights, and participation in income or investment matters. Marriage is an institution that signifies nothing. Promises made/broken ... so?
Care to tell us what replacement institution is there that offers the same rights as marriage?

Not really.
