20 Pastors protested against Gunther von Hagens exhibiton of plastinated bodies in Berlin.
Their Motto: "Let the dead rest in peace!". A 66 year old woman who joined the protest is quoted: "Where the deceased are exhibited, ridiculed and made into puppets the same will be done to the living. Bodyworlds is a shameless seduction".

I love this guy! All 3 series have been shown in Australia. They were facinating.
Now he's good at something else I like, upsetting dumb fundies. Yay!

There is nothing worse than what they do to the dead. They propose that they will exist in eternal hell.
If I remember correctly, before they died, the people whose bodies are used in this exhibit agreed to having their bodies used for this purpose. If that is indeed the case, these pastors and other protesters have no grounds to be upset (aside from their religion being total superstitious hocus-pocus)
I heard some radio program saying there were some accusations that many of these bodies were executed Chinese criminals who perhaps did not deserve a death sentence. Not sure if that was ever substantiated though.
Where the deceased are exhibited, ridiculed and made into puppets the same will be done to the living.

Uhh, that's already been done.
Is this so different from what morticians do when embalming, making up, and dressing up dead people for display at their funerals? Of course, they don't charge admission, except for the fortunes that the dearly beloved's family pays for the whole process.

A good christian would never do such a thing. That would be almost like displaying images of a dead man nailed to a wooden cross, and pretending to eat his flesh and drink his blood in elaborate ceremonies.

Ha! Git 'em Daniel!
All completely voluntary.

I think there is even a form to sign up. I wonder if that would interferer with my donor status? Hrm.

This man was a convicted murderer while alive and an awesome anatomical specimen that doctors can use for planning surgeries.
There's not only a form, there's a waiting list. There are 1000's of people wanting to donate. I'll stick to being a military ballistics cadaver.
I do recall my christian mom teaching me as a child that we have souls, and that our bodies are just a shell. So if the christians believe that our body is just a shell and the soul moves on to heaven, why would they care what is done with the shell. Isn't it according to them now an empty and worthless shell that is no longer of any purpose to that soul. They just can't keep their own %#&* straight can they.
I think a lot of them believe that the body will be resurrected during the rapture and be reunited with the soul in hebun. Xtians in the past have historically been against dissection, autopsies, and cremation.
Oh fuck me, sorry for resurrecting a two month old thread.

I worked at Bodies: the Exhibition which is a similar exhibit to vonHagens.

I came across a lot of crazy people while I worked there. A lot. I didn't mind the people who knew nothing about the human body; I'm glad a lot of them came and it was the curious who comprised the lion's share of the people who came.

However there was always the occasional nut who would pay for admission and do stupid shit all throughout the exhibit. One guy in particular hung around the foetal development exhibit (which could be totally circumvented and there was ample warning that it was coming) telling absolute lies about embryonic growth and development to anyone who would listen.

There was a mother who (after apparently not reading the sign that warned of the reproduction exhibit or the sign shunting people away from it) complained that we threw penises and vaginae into her childrens' faces.

Also, I don't know what kind of sick fuck would see a fully anatomized body and even think about attributing the word 'seductive' to it. That's a special kind of sick fuck. The kind of sick fuck that seems to come almost exclusively from religious fanaticism.
