Sorry this is old news, from January.  thinkprogress. org.    North Carloina republican representative expressed that public hangings would be ideal for abortionists, rapists, and kidnappers.

This link from teapartyjesus was perfect.

The ONLY redeeming aspect of that post is that, based on a brief scan of the comments, NO ONE is agreeing with that horse's ass!

Someone please tell me ... WHY is it that we're getting all this incredibly over-the-top rhetoric from the right lately?

Loren, it's all about creating jobs.  think how many executioners will be put to work.  savvy!

Loren, You asked the million $ question.  Seems to me it's because of a lack of actual ideas, and lack of a record that shows the right has any benefit to this or other countries.  So, lacking ideas, lacking a beneficial record, they fall back on outrageousness to fire up the nonthinking, reactionary, scapegoat-prone masses.

And, make sure to bring the kiddies. It's fun for the whole family!

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. It's old white racists in our society who are terrified of the demographic racial shift in this country, and who yearn for the imaginary "good 'ole days," when people of color and women were in their place, divorces were rare (and wife beatings common), gay people were not something that was discussed in "polite society," and when Randolph Scott put a bullet in the bad guys on screen, no one bleeds.

Oh, yeah, let's bring the kids to the hanging.

Man ... there are damned few pictures I've seen in my life that disturb me HALF so much as that one above.

(hoping this doesn't come across as insensitive)

i'm surprised he wasn't stripped naked and beaten to a bloody pulp first.  must be photoshopped.

Believe me when I say it was not the worst example I found, with children present. Just though it was a graphic exemplar of what the bloodthirsty NC rep. wants to go back to.

When children learn to devalue others, they can devalue anyone - including their parents.

Shame is, Pat, not all of 'em are old ... though the people they learned this attitude and behavior from may have been.

I've seen plenty of lynching pics on the internet.  As a doctor, I dissected dead people in medical school, and have been present when others died.  As a human being, I've lost family members and friends.  Even so, executions are the most horrible things I have looked at - either these lynching pics, or videos or Iranian hangings, or the al qaeda killings.  Anyone who can view these and not be traumatized....  I don't understand how they think.  I can't bear to look at them.  It's disturbs me more than I can describe.  The man in the noose is human.  The people around him - what are they?  Cylons?  The wrong person was hung - it should have been the people in the crowd.  If people can do this, I don't want to be in the same species.

See!  It has already started.  The wrong person was hanged, not hung...

Sorry, couldn't help it.  But you are right.  Sometimes I am absolutely shocked at how awful people can be.

Fuck.  I thought I fixed my midwest grammar.  Damn.

Come together one and all

Hello fellow atheists!  I have joined this site in an attempt to find other rational individuals, such as myself, and to promote a current charity drive that I am trying to get going for the Oklahoma tornado victims.  I have managed to get many groups from around my area, including the Beyond Belief Foundation to back me on this endeavor.

I am located in Newnan, Ga and have my own atheist group entitled "Coweta County Atheists".  I am currently being backed by Spaulding Co.…

Pope's 'exorcism' caught on film video

Posted by Debra Stevenson on May 21, 2013 at 2:37pm 0 Comments

There is a video of the Pope's 'exorcism' caught on film.  The man isn't demon possessed, there are likely no 'real' demons.  He's just delusional and doesn't want to accept personal responsiblity for his own behavior for his own dysfunctional life.

Do you support 'traditional' marriage, vot now ad

There is an ad that reads ' Do you support 'traditional' marriage? Vote Now"!  .

No, I don't support 'traditional' marriage because there is no such thing. I support heterosexual and same-sex couples marry each other legally , yes.  'Traditional' marriage promoters largely do not believe that heterosexual women are co-equal to their husbands.  Their only purpose in 'traditional' marriage is to sexually satisfy their husbands if they can and raise children and do all…

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/05/21/texas-merry-christmas-bill_n_3312786.html?utm_hp_ref=politics

i've got no problem with everyone saying "merry christmas" on christmas day.  however, they've turned it into an entire holiday season where it lasts a month or more.  in those situations it should be perfectly acceptable to say "happy holidays" or call it a…
