Local North Texas Churches Hold "Prayer Walk" For Back-To-School
It seems like everything was "kosher" as they were not allowed special access to school property and there was no official involvement, and I strongly agree to their right to do this, but it is still plain kooky.

Members of local churches have been asked to send up prayers at various Denton school sites on Sunday.
Denton churches will ask their congregations to select at least one of Denton's more than 30 schools to visit and pray for at some time Sunday following church said the Rev. Matt Gaston, senior pastor of Denton's First United Methodist Church. Congregants will be asked to physically walk the perimeter of the campus of their choice stopping at four different points to pray for students, parents, faculty and administrations prior to the start of the 2009-2010 academic year.

Omniscient and omnipotent God is sitting on his throne saying, "Such-and-such a school is due for a shooting/massacre this semester and damned if I'm going to lift a finger to save the little brats. But if one of those Denton congregations decides to pray for it, I'll reconsider."
