High Church official blames gays, sex & abortion for 'moral wasteland' in UK
Only weeks before an already controversial visit by the Pope to England, Edmund Adamus, director of pastoral affairs at the diocese of Westminster and an adviser to Archbishop Vincent Nichols (leader of the Catholic Church in England and Wales), has stirred the pot some more by blaming gay rights, abortion and the commercialization of sex for turning Britain into a "selfish, hedonistic wasteland" and "the geopolitical epicentre of the culture of death".

As happens so often, a cleric has seen some faults in society - there is a selfishness that objectifes others and exploits them - but has misunderstood the causes. The amount of paranoia, however, is a suprise. Who the fuck wants to persecute Catholics? They are so good at screwing up anyway without help from outside. Do we hear the rumblings of a guilty conscience?
