Christians to pray for atheists on April Fool's Day

According to the Bible, "the fool says in his heart there is no God" (Psalm 14:1) and this April 1st, some Christians will honor the day by praying for atheists. At least those who are joining the Pray for an Atheist fan page on Facebook will.

And they'll be praying for us by name! (more here)

Whenever some "well meaning" Christian quotes Psalm 14:1 to me, I quote back Matthew 5:22. The 'fish mouth' I usually get from that is pretty sweet.

I agree with the person quoted in the article. Whatever floats their boat. It means absolutely nothing to me either way, so who cares. Yet another case of "Prayer: How to do nothing and feel like you're doing something." As long as I don't have to hear it, I'm happy.

If they do it - they're trying to save us and is coated with the best of intentions.

If we do something like this (like hold a conference on religion on Apr 1st or some such thing) - then it's indicative of us being insensitive/elitist/intolerant/etc etc etc

I only accept it when people I care about say they are going to pray for me. I know they are doing it out of love. Not pleased if someone I don't know or care about says it.
