Atheist Richard Dawkins aids Haiti, touts God-free giving

Donations to faith-based aid groups are soaring and believers get a great deal of just credit for stepping up to help in Haiti. Now unbelievers want the world to know they're just as caring.

The champion of unbelief Richard Dawkins, Britain's star atheist scientist, has announced he'll personally cover the PayPal fees (up to $10,000) for donations to two non-religious relief groups -- Doctors without Borders and the Red Cross -- through a newly established site called Unbelievers Giving Aid

Yea! But the group's name is actually Non-Believers Giving Aid. They must have changed it since the first announcement because I've seen it the way you have it in other articles.

Cosmetic. Especially since a lot of atheists that arrive at their position via contemplation and not monkey-see-monkey-do don't like the term "atheist" anyway.
I suspect that more money is given by our ilk than we are given credit for. I wanted my money to go to real relief not some relief with theist propaganda saying I'm evil attached.

Absolutely agreed. The trouble, as with getting a real demographic, is capturing the data. If it were possible to overcome this obstacle, it's really the biggest PR feat we could ever achieve. But it's the "herding cats" problem...
As we don't belong to churches and global dioceses, it can be easy to not see what Atheists give, as we're doing so privately.
Not too sure what is the value of wasting charitable money on a "middleman" such as paypal, why not donate directly on MSF and RC? Not just our money, but his money, I'd rather see his 10000 go to MSF and RC instead of Paypal. That was a very strange idea he had.

Why ? Because white male gazillionaires own PayPal, therefore it MUST BE corrupt ?

It doesn't matter how you donate money - it still has to get handled by feelthy corporate whores. PayPal is as good a method as any to collate large numbers of tiny streams of cash. Probably better.
@TNT666: As widely anticipated by all the naive Peter Pan's and Wendy's out there, those parasitic dirt-bag capitalist bloodsuckers at PayPal have decided to waive fees for any and all donations. Sorry to ruin your corporation bashing party.

Donations made through PayPal to any 501(c)(3) organization that is currently raising money to aid relief in Haiti will not be subject to any fees.
