Anti-gay pastor screens porn in Ugandan church to garner support for laws dubbed 'odious' by Barack Obama

A PASTOR seeking to bolster Uganda's anti-gay laws screened gay porn in a church in the capital Kampala overnight in a bid to gain support.

The screening in an evangelical church was attended by around 300 supporters after plans for a "million man march" were thwarted by police.

"The major argument homosexuals have is that what people do in the privacy of their bedrooms is nobody's business, but do you know what they do in their bedrooms?" pastor Martin Ssempa asked the crowd.

Is this religion teaching people how to be good? Breeding hatred and xenophobia is good for generating tithes but is this cynical mood really good for people and society?

I love cooking, so I watch the Food Network quite a bunch. So, I guess the question is, was this porn from the pastor's personal collection, or did he send out a memo to his flock?

In these wannabe theocracies (and I'm also looking at you, America), a lot of this hatred toward those who act against and refuse to conform to the perceived authority of the Bible is essentially contrived for the benefit of the collective mob and its instigators. Christianity, and many other religions, need their enemies. Truth be damned, they will cook up any reason and whatever fears they can, and the more irrational and nebulous, the more effective. They need people to hate and persecute. They need those examples, and, unfortunately, these days, homosexuals are an easy and ubiquitous target for them.

Anyway, Ssempa's utterance above is astounding in its gleaming hypocrisy. Unless the bedroom antics of humans have some appeal to you, there is simply no need to fixate and obsess over them to the extent that this pastor is.
We shouldn't care what other people do in their bedrooms but, since we don't like what they do in their bedrooms we should care what they do in their bedrooms.
No, he wants to do the stuff in the bedrooms he's interfering with, but he thinks it is bad so he's trying to make the penalty so awful he'll never be tempted....again?
NOW THAT'S A CHURCH SERVICE I'D BE WILLING TO ATTEND!
Except for the part where they crucify you (literally) after they see you sitting there smiling with a raging hard-on...
with a raging hard-on...

I have a feeling I wouldn't be the only one.
I automatically don't like this guy because he has two S's at the beginning of his last name and that's just weird.
You know how we joke that is really takes a self-hating closeted gay person to push homophobia really hard? You know, since they "protest too much?"

Well, when you start showing gay porn in church because you don't want to see gay people having sex, add that to the list.
I've never found straight porn to be a very accurate representation of what hetero sex is like (at least not professionally produced porn). Do we know if this guy was showing a slide show, a professional porno or what? I suspect the content wasn't just some informative and dispassionate shots of a couple of dudes together but probably some sort of gang-bang involving shitplay. That said, do we have any actual info on the content beyond speculation?

edit: I love you, google ads, always hilarious.
Sweet... I'm bringing the popcorn!
I'm wondering how much gay porn the pastor screened before choosing the bits that he did. Hours upon hours of close inspection. Analyzing video and sound quality. Slow-motion and frame-by-frame. Over and over again to make sure he got just the right gay porn to show to his congregation.

Next step will be to take them all on a field trip to a gay escort service, because he's decided that it's really best experienced firsthand.
A good pastor would be setting up his show to alternately outrage then sooth to build the mood he needs to get his congregation stirred up. To do that he would have needed to really know the topic. I think he tilted his hand by doing this. I'd say he's a "Friend of Haggard".
