Americans United commends Obama for supporting birth control
Americans United commends Obama for supporting birth control, but there are powerful right wing Christian forces that oppose his views. It is one thing to be a mom and pop doctor's office where birth control is not prescribed. It is another thing entirely when a hospital denies insured no copay birth control because that hospital may be the only hospital for miles around. A hospital is more like a public institution because of the location of the next nearest hospital. "To be clear, this regulation does not require Catholic and other religious hospitals and charities toprovide contraception to patients. That is another issue entirely and one that may benefit from some additional discussion.
