Found in The Music Empowers Foundation's photos:

'Writing music can be a lot of hard work. What I really need is a nice long rest.' [writes an 18-measure rest] 'I feel better already.'

[Kit Kat chocolate bar hiding among the black keys of a piano] Day 41: F# is starting to get suspicious. The other keys still do not suspect anything.

Just wrapped up a homemade rock/pop cd. Song clips here > Damian Kidder fb store ... If you like any of the clips, and want to, "Like" my facebook music page.

A counterintuitive finding: visual information trumps the music itself in evaluations of contestants in classical music competitions.

In a study by Chia-Jung Tsay ... nearly all participants — including highly trained musicians — were better able to identify the winners of competitions by watching silent video clips than by listening to audio recordings."

... Because musical differences between two top performers are often slight, viewers can more easily pick up on visual cues they associate with high-quality performance, Tsay believes. Factors such as a performer’s engagement, passion, and energy resonate.

“... when I ran the studies with professional musicians — people who perform as part of orchestras, or who teach at music conservatories — and I saw the same result, that was when I realized that regardless of the amount of experience, people still seem to rely on visual information.”

For anyone interested, I've recently uploaded the song "Welcome to my Godless World" to youtube. A simple google search of the title with my name (Dave Summers) should find it. Oh, and some of you might like "Top of the Tree"
