My band has nine members, and as far as I know, only two of us are atheists. We don't discuss religion or politics, since those can be divisive topics, and we're more interested in building cohesion. I know that two other members also play in church bands, but that's all I know or want to know about my bandmates' religious views.
I'm in a newly-formed band called Philly Rock & Soul. I play guitar, and am also the band's webmaster. We play R&B, Motown, Elvis, and other great music from the 1950s through '70s. I was born in 1945, and this is the music that I grew up with from about age 10. I think of it as "my music"!
I just finished building the band's website, and would love to share it with all of you. You can check us out at Philly Rock & Soul. There are five audio clips and a video medley on the "Music" page, and if you like what you hear, please leave a message in our Guestbook, which is at the bottom of the "About us" page.
Rock on!

Permalink Reply by Mario Rugeles Perez on October 8, 2011 at 8:22pm Sure, this would be a traslation:
Long life for those who knows
Tha behind the fear there are reasons
to free us from pain,
and transform our hearts
In a phony world of illusions
money rules with no questions
they invent truesto all who doesn't resists the real one
You can see something happened,
you can see the myth is over,
that in the end all was an illusion
There are people who always have,
only the true that works from them
the believers's pockets
and their souls until their death
But the true always is revealed
you can see good and bad are mixed things
dare to understand
or come back to your blindness
You can see something happened,
you can see the myth is over,
that in the end all was an illusion

Standin’ on a rock, floatin’ in space.
No one’s above the stars with a bearded face.
Sittin’ on a rock, floatin’ in space. What we do to our home is such a disgrace.
Too many want more than they really need. Justify through worship to satisfy their greed.
Too many wars, make believe at the core. Most do as their told, don’t know what it’s for.
Kneelin’ on a rock, floatin’ in space.
No one’s above the stars with a bearded face.
Lyin’ on a rock, floatin’ in space. What we do to each other is such a disgrace.
Too many want more than they really need. Justify through worship to satisfy their greed.
Too many wars, make believe at the core. Most do as their told, don’t know what it’s for.

Squattin’ on a rock, floatin’ in space.
No one’s above the stars with a bearded face.
Stuck on rock, floatin’ in space. No wrath from an ancient book are we goin’ face.
Standin, sittin’, kneelin’, lyin’, squatin’ and we're all stuck on a rock, yes we are, all stuck on a rock.

Permalink Reply by Terry Groff on February 13, 2012 at 12:46am I play with The Holland K. Smith Band out of the Dallas/Fort Worth area. We play a mixture of Blues, Jazz, R&B, 50s/60s Rock, and even a little surf. Holland wrote "Rock Party" which is a song that George Thorogood recorded and opens his shows with.
