Atheist Humor

This is the place to post that hilarious irreligious YouTube video, an irreverent, anti-religious cartoon, or other humorous bit of media. Posts that do not reflect an atheist/irreligious theme will be deleted. (Don't make me go Old Testament.)

Lewis Black: The Flintstones is not a documentary.

A slightly longer version of the clip that used to be here.

@Christopher: Thank you. I'd been reading a couple of essays, both writen more than 20 years ago, about the decline of literacy in North America, and I'm frightened. The rate of decline has accelerated alarmingly since John D. MacDonald wrote "Reading for Survival," and Spider Robinson commented :"We are all, I hope, terrified at the growing prospect of a nation of illiterate voters attempting to make responsible decisions about complex and urgent issues of science and technology, issues whose cardinal points simply cannot be condensed into a ten-second sound bite. He who cannot read cannot reason. And we know that the trend is in that direction."

I know this is not the place to discuss the matter...we iz s'pozed 2 be laffin' in here, but I haven't been in the Nexus long enough to learn how to start a fresh discussion. I sometimes think that if those creationist/tea-bagging whackjobs had been taught to read, and think critically about what they were reading, as children they would know that their precious buybull is fiction, and more preposterous than anything Jonathan Swift ever wrote.

Oh, you can find a scanned copy of "Reading for Survival" here:

If anybody here knows how to open a discussion about illiteracy and the ultra-conservatives' vested interest in perpetuating it, I would be delighted.

Sk8, that wasn't lame, it was pretty damn funny.

"You can lead a horse's ass to a voting booth, but you cannot make him think."

Lame, but it's my very own work.

At His second coming, Christ was sore vexed by the crass commercialization of His Message and His Sacrifice.

He didn't get really pissed off until He discovered what His percentage of the profits were.

David Perry, "smells like... reality"

J.P.M., God bless the Onion

NoSacredCow, I fucking LOVE that one, man. I can't believe I've never seen it before.
