Lewis Black: The Flintstones is not a documentary.

A slightly longer version of the clip that used to be here.

lol, maybe she's one of those regenerative virgins like in the muslim heaven.
Comment by Susan Stanko on March 20, 2011 at 12:17pm
The original word could have meant either virgin or young woman.

I actually did know that... It's just a was recently having a rather heated discussion with a Pentecostal acquaintance regarding Mary's supposed abstinence. And her lack of insight, and refusal to look at any source other than the KJV translation bothered me, as if it was the only interpretation. ANYHOW... I did know about the mistranslation, and actually attempted to use that very argument. Didn't work, but I suppose if reason would work as an argument... she wouldn't be religious in the first place. lol

@Ivy, I love the Sandpeople pic.
@Laura, actually the entire "virgin birth" myth is due to a mistranslation. The original text refers to Mary as a "young woman", and this was misinterpreted as "virgin".

Isn't it the Mormon bible the one that says god actually came to earth and did the deed with Mary?? How would that make her a virgin then?

Now Joseph, we all know it was immaculate conception... Mary was never soiled by such a vile thing.

Well, it worked for Mary, at least.
