James, Bunuel is not my favorite, but I have seen lots of his films. Though the title Miky Way does sound familiar, that scene does not.

My favorite atheist film is Luis Bunuel's The Milky Way. In my favorite scene, Bunuel imitates one of those cheesy 16mm films we had to sit through at Sunday school, this one showing Jesus in conversation with his mother, Mary. She says, "You know, Jesus, I think you would be soooo much better looking, and you'd be more appealing to crowds if you'd shave off your beard." I always laugh until it hurts.

Yeah, sorry, other projects have been taking up all my time lately, haven't had much time to watch movies. Although I did see both Wall-E and the Ed Norton Hulk film (much better than the Bana vehicle).

It's hard to beat Life of Brian and Dogma for comedies with a little religion in 'em. But for films of any genre, I'd have to say my top three are Before Sunrise, Station Agent, Casablanca, The Graduate, Mighty Aphrodite, Amélie, Dr. Strangelove, Léon... yeah, those three.
