Seriously though, this reminds me of the ghoul effect in Jacob's Ladder which scared me silly at the time.

It's an odd little film, but I kind of like it, actually. I'm not sure if I've seen Jacob's Ladder.

Ladder was a great movie, Dallas.

 

A very early Sixth Sense in some regards but far more scary.

 

The spirits in Ladder did/do something similar with their heads - if you can call them heads. It's a great film with a powerful message, IMO.

 

Tagline: "The most frightening thing about Jacob Singer's nightmare is that he isn't dreaming."
