G'day! I live in Brisbane, Australia and I will clock up a half century next week but have only been riding a motorbike for a few months. My big brother was into bikes so I never was. A few years ago I got a scooter to ride to work and save on the parking. Riding my little scooter around started me thinking and I developed an ambition to get a bike and ride around Australia. I have completed step one and got my bike license and bought myself a Suzuki GS500. It's a great bike for riding to work, very economical, and quick enough for me at this early stage. I haven't run into gangs of christian bikers yet. Hopefully there aren't as many down under.

I favor rice burners and my god resides in the souls of my two backyard mechanics who work magic with their metric tools.

Am I ok to join?

Anyone ever had to ride past the biker's church service at rallies on their way out on Sunday morning? We're always getting approached by these guys when we're packing up Sunday morning, "Come on out and join us."
The biker lifestyle is about being free, not feeling tied to the unsupported notion of rules for a good life after death. I often wonder why there are so many Christian biker groups.

if you have to worship something a solid bike is probably your best bet, lol. Don't tell Nick (my 03 night train), he might get delusions of grandeur.

I've never been to Sturgis because every time I got serious about going to Sturgis, I ended up deploying instead. Now that I'm a retiree, I might finally get to go.

I'm in Afghanistan now , away from my Road King (compliments of the US Army). I'll get back just in time to ride from Central TX to Sturgis for the 2010 rally.

I did abut 150Km (just shy of 100 miles) last night, at highway speed. I was a lot more comfortable with it by the end than I was starting out. I think I went through about 9 litres (about 2.25 gallons), does it sound like too much? I'm just curious because the other guys I was with had no problem with carrying enough fuel.

I've just started riding this spring, so I hope you guys don't mind a fair number of noob questions. I'm just on an 86 Nighthawk 750, but I love to look at all the rides at the local coffee shop hang out.
