This is a personal project that will take place in Dolyna, Ukraine. Dolyna is a small city in western Ukraine where I was born and raised, before moving to the US. It is one of the oldest cities in the region, dating back to the 10th century. It is a mixture of the old traditions and new technology at the bottom of scenic Carpathian Mountains.

The aim of the project is to document Dolyna's rich culture and the soul while re-connecting with childhood memories. The culture is changing, becoming more modernized; yet it is very unique and lively. The project is photojournalistic in nature, yet it is fine art in essence. It is fueled with memories and driven by an eager desire to explore the evolution of childhood environment. A book and, possibly, an exhibit would be the culmination of a journey into past. This project was inspired by Robert Frank's "The Americans", but on a smaller, more local and personal scale.
