Lol, those are great Ruth! Especially the one about the cat wanting the chair to let go if his claws! They probably do blame the furniture, because nothing could be THEIR fault! Lol

Aww! That's so sweet, booklover. Thanks for sharing it.

What needy-sounding kitties, Patricia. Ours expect us to go out most days, and seem secure when we return. They do greet us, but casually.

I can go out the front door, but am only ''allowed'' on the back porch. If I go down into the backyard, the yelling that goes on is awful. For awhile it was only Purr-Dee, but now it's Kiri as well. Then when I come back into the house, it's as if I've been gone for days!

I love the cat welcome video, Felaine, and your story of Dido, Chris! Cats have body, mind, and emotion, no doubt about it.

Cats don't slobber and make a big noise, but they always welcome us. Dido warns me every time my partner comes home: he - Dido - stops what he was doing or comes out of a deep sleep and races down the stairs to our front door for a greeting.

I didn't think that dogs deserved ALL the credit for enthusiastically welcoming their people home!
