@Steph Fangkew!  I'm beginning to wonder if people have forgotten those print ads, or if they are too young to ever have seen them.

I thought this particular page was for anything having to do with atheists who love cats...and cats who allow themselves to be worshipped by atheists.

We seem to be getting off topic, and the topic is lolcatz

@ Natalie: Depends on when you were in high school. In "my day" (the '50s) after-school clubs like Campus Christians, with teachers as "advisors" or whatever, were allowed. It wasn't until the 1960s that students and parents really started to take action against school-sponsored buybull readings and prayers...here's a link to a June 17 "Freethought of the Day" about the Ellery Schempp case: http://www.ffrf.org/day/view/06/17/#bible-reading-in-public-schools...

My bad...most of the cases began in the 1950s, but didn't reach the Supremes until the '60s...when we had more justices with brains than we do now.

Today, as far as I know, religious "clubs" can meet and fuss around with their beliefs on school property ONLY outside of normal school hours.

Most school boards are a lot more cautious about religion on campus than they used to be.  Of course they can't do anything about off-campus orgs., or kids who are encouraged by their churches to take their buybulls to school with them (and flash them around, I guess.  SO arrogant!).

There is also some debate about "released time" religion classes where elementary school students are bussed (WITH their parents' consent) off campus for an hour of what amounts to just another boring Sunday school class.  I endured that when I was a kid, and I was surprised to find the programs are still alive. And pushier than ever. I thought it was silly, but we did get to sing on the bus ride.

Too funny. JOO-ISH!!! I remember one time going to the principal of the high school where I taught, because I found a candy cane in my box with attached message saying Jesus loves you, and I told him it was not only offensive, but perhaps against the law, because the Christian Club should really not be allowed to evangelize on school time -- they were out in the halls passing out such candy canes to the students passing by. He looked at me like I was crazy, and said I was making a big deal out of nothing and that the "gift" was meant in good will. In retrospect, maybe I should have gotten FFRF on it, but I didn't know about it at the time.
