I don't think cats worship people.  Dogs definitely do.  Cats are more likely to demand that we worship them.

Noisy's little gifts were just that, gifts.  I think.

I read a hypothesis somewhere that spayed female cats have adopted us, and are trying to teach us how to hunt our own food...the way they would teach their kittens if they had any.

A horrifying thought struck me: Could our cats be acting in a religious manner, offering sacrifices to the gods (us) who provide them with their food and all the good things in life? How could we convince our cats that atheism is the way to go?

Tee-hee!  Who knows what goes on inside their little heads?

Sk8eycat - that's an interesting story about your cat leaving you presents. Maybe your kitty could sense you were stressed and thought the gifts would help you.

Ah, yes.  I hear you.  We had a tortie (who died at age 16 about 5 years ago) who not only loved to sneak outside whenever she could, she also left us "presents" on the door mats. The spooky thing about it all was that the number of gifts increased when I was having serious financial problems, and was living mostly on oatmeal, and other cheap food. I don't know if she was really trying to help, but it was a strange coincidence.

Have used Advantage for years, had a cat(who died 2 years ago, he was 15, so wasnt too much of a shock) who had really bad reactions to flea bites, so I know all about anti-flea meds.

We do keep our cats inside, but this one loves going outside, hes a bit stupid and gets lost, which is why hes an inside cat, but he loves to escape. So he will get out every now and then, and get fleas. I talked to a couple vets, and they said locally people have had a really hard time getting rid of fleas this year. We regularly vacuum and clean the areas where he sleeps, but just couldnt get rid of them. Flea bombed twice back in the spring, but that only lasted a few weeks.

Hopefully with colder weather, and this last flea bombing(and cat washing) we can finally get rid of them for good.

@Kosak - How old is your cat?  If he's older than 6 months get Advantage from your vet. It takes a few weeks to work, and you have to keep cleaning the cat's bed, and other places he likes to lounge around for a couple of weeks.  And vacuum the floors thoroughly (then throw the bag in the outside trash bin immediately.) BUT it does work!  I've used it for years...off and on, and I know.

If your cat doesn't ever go outside, you only have to apply it for a few months until the fleas and flea eggs are absolutely gone.  If your cat does go outside, you have to apply it once a month...just a tiny drop on the skin at the back of the head where a cat can't lick it.

PLEASE don't try any supermarket brand anti-flea products, they can make your cat sick. I think PetMeds sells it online without a prescription.

I'm not sure.  I have indoor cats, and haven't had a flea problem in about 5 years. (When we adopted a kitty who had fleas.)

Kosak, I agree with Steph. I bet your cat is thanking you for the flea bath. Can you imagine what it would feel like having a bunch of little bugs all over you crawling & biting? Ewww, gives me the creeps just thinking about it. I'd be thanking you, too!

Hi Kosak!

AWWW - sounds like a very sweet cat. I bet your cat feels so much better without the fleas. Your kitty is thanking you for getting rid of those fleas.
