I got the usual treatment this morning: a greeting that lasted more than ten minutes with big hugs, noseprints on my glasses, a loud purring concert and a lot of meowing - only after that was I allowed to dress and make coffee. And this wasn't about food at all, the cats eat later in the day. I have yet to find the first teenager to give me such a greeting!

Patricia, I remember carrying on as if I had more than one life when I was a teenager! Today I cringe at the stupidity!
Spud, Charlie Girl is doing great! I will post a pic tomorrow when I'm on my computer and not my phone. She got her rabies shot today. She gets fixed on Dec.3rd.

Oh, yes.  Cats are preferable....they're soft, and they purr.  And they somehow know when you need comforting, and try to help.

Yes, Spud......preferable.......ain't it the troof!!!???

Got a chuckle out of your post, CLAWS.

Besides being humorous, I think there's a lot of truth in your post Patricia, but to me, a cat is preferable.

For all of you with teenagers or who had teenagers,
you may want to know why they really have
a lot in common with cats:

1. Neither teenagers nor cats turn their
heads when you call them by name.
2. No matter what you do for them, it is not enough.
Indeed, all humane efforts are barely adequate to
compensate for the privilege of waiting on them hand and foot.
3. You rarely see a cat walking outside of the house with
an adult human being, and it can be safely said that no
teenager in his or her right mind wants to be seen in
public with his or her parents.
4. Cats and teenagers can lie on the living-room sofa for
hours on end without moving, barely breathing.
5. Cats have nine lives. Teenagers carry on as if they did.

What a funny cat Ruth.

Charlie girl looks like she's made herself at home.
