There are many apostates who live in exile in fear of being persecuted if they return home. They are mainly from Islamic dominated countries. Islamic regimes cruelly suppress any kind of apostasy. They punish apostates with fatal tortures and execution.
Everyone has the right to abandon his/her religion without being persecuted or discriminated. We fight against the persecution of apostates. We stand up against religious discrimination and intolerance. It is a long way ahead but there will be a day that apostates will be able to live safely all around the world in peace and harmony with other people.

People who believe in god(s)/religion(s) seem to say that "God is most important" in their lives (then family, then work). But god doesn't exist. I have a concern that because the…Continue

Comment by James M. Martin on March 1, 2013 at 18:11 The problem, Loren, is that the U.S. usually comes down on the wrong side of history in these matters. Iran's only perceived enemy, other than the U.S., is Israel, and they blame the U.S. for Israeli domination in the Levant. Obama has said he will not stand by and watch the Iranians make a WMD-nucular, but the Mideast won't likely forget Saddam Hussein's lesson to the Islamic nations. In an interview, Saddam said, "We have no weapons of mass destruction, but Bush will invade anyway." Obama is the first president in some time to allow speculation he agrees with the progressive position: there will never be peace in the "Holy Land" unless Israel dismantles its settlements. Nothing Yahoo is not doing that. In fact, he just authorized further incursion into traditionally Palestinian lands.
Comment by Pat on March 1, 2013 at 8:55 Iran wants to be the dominant power player in the mideast. I think they believe (and not without some justification) that being a nuclear power will get them there. The Sunni nations in the region, e.g. Saudi Arabia and Jordan, are scared Shi'ite-less they'll get one. Though, those nations will not publicly say this, since it would probably be twisted into looking like they support Israel.
Should they actually launch one, Randy Newman's song may well come true.
Comment by Loren Miller on March 1, 2013 at 8:24 What may be worse, James, is that they may also become the poster boy for what happens when 8th century thinking is combined with 21st century technology. Oh, sure, they know what they have and what they're playing with. I DON'T think they fully recognize how the rest of the world will react to them if they should be so stupid as to attempt to deploy a nuclear weapon.
Comment by James M. Martin on March 1, 2013 at 7:44 Sayed, I am aware that Ali Khamenei is the dictator and the others are yes men. They are very wealthy though the majority of Iranians are struggling to survive. This nation is the poster boy for what becomes of a country without any separation between church and state.
Comment by Mordekhai ben-Yosef on March 1, 2013 at 6:07 I see they're also into gerontocracy as well. And most of their population is young, very young.
Comment by Sayed Iman on March 1, 2013 at 4:40 @James, you're well-aware of Iran's systematic theocratic dictatorship
Comment by James M. Martin on February 28, 2013 at 21:50 Well, you see, when one mullah is making all the decisions you have the equivalent of a plebiscite legislative body that is bored out of its skull simply by showing up and pretending to make law. The Grand Mullah (I almost wrote Moolah) makes all the decisions, so these geeks sit and listen to the most boring conversations imaginable: bla bla bla from cypher people who have no power to do anything. That's as it should be since your country is still living in the 8th century.
