The following is a quote from Annie Laurie Gaylor, Freedom From Religion Foundation co-president, as cited in an article titled "First freethought message appears on billboard" (http://www.dailyhome.com/pages/full_story/push?article-First+freeth...) :

“There are many atheists and agnostics in America, ... and we want them to know they are not alone. We’d also like to invite believers to imagine a world free from religious wars, sectarian strife and superstition. We can have a better world without religion, by placing our energies into making this world, our only world, a better place instead of investing our best efforts in trying to achieve a make-believe afterlife.”

The billboard in the article mentioned reads, "Imagine No Religion."
...
Imagine how much time, effort, and money has been wasted throughout humanity's history on the futile god pursuit, and imagine how much unfeigned progress could have been accomplished if it had all been focused on science or some other genuinely productive endeavor.

Yes, imagine ...
What are your thoughts?

I believe secular humanism should serve as a replacement or a transition from theistic religions. Or, neuroscience can help to drive the evolution of humanity through brain chips / other mental enhancements. As of the present, an overwhelming majority of people do not reach self-actualization. They need a cheap counterfeit version of it ~ religious spirituality.

Signing Atheists

I was going to set up a group for Deaf Atheists, but figured I'd probably be alone in here if I did that so I figured I'd open it to anyone who knows sign language or even interested in learning it.
