Justin, The next convention near the UK will be in Dublin next year, but I don't think there have been any formal announcements about it yet.

Justin - When there is information on future conventions available, it will be here: http://www.atheistalliance.org/programs/conventions I don't think AAI's membership cost is too steep... it includes a subscription to an amazing publication - "Secular Nation." Our local organization (in DC) has a $35/year fee without a publication.

Mike,

Unfortunately, there can't be a convention in Jakarta at this time, but the Arab Atheist Network is in the process of planning a conference to be held on the island of Malta.

It would be nice to see an atheist convention here in Jakarta.
Unfortunately the peace loving, open minded extremist groups here would be attacking them like they did the gay rights convention what actually had to be shut down.
The more 'faithful', dedicated and extreme a religious follower is it seems, the less able they are to withstand challenges to their faith. Anything here that might make the brainwashed recognize their brainwashing is quickly averted.

Jay, check out the schedule of speakers and events. Doesn't look like there will be time for any "extra curricular activities" on Saturday before the show.

I am really looking forward to this upcoming weekend. I haven't been to an actual convention since Worldcon came to Toronto.

Sadly I will not be getting into Montreal until about 1-2 pm on Friday, so I might miss some of the starting stuff.

On another note:

Is there any plans for a pre-meetup for A|N people before Saturday night. Maybe we could meet someplace early before the Comedy Showcase (I got my ticket) on Friday.

Hmmm, who knows Montreal well enough to suggest some place?

P.S. Looking forward as well to having a Schwartz's deli Smoked meat sandwich and some Montreal poutine.

The Rednecks are coming, the Rednecks are coming

Actually, the rednecks are here and everywhere. Let me say, I'm not a big fan of these people. That's putting it mildly. Need I describe them? You know who I mean. This seems to be the time of year when they come out of the woodwork. Here in Indiana, as the weather gets nice, the motorcyclists are out in full force. I hate the noise cycles make. Then there's the Indianapolis 500 fans, the majority of which are rednecks. Interview them or a typical Pacer fan (big news as they face the Miami…See More
