My name is Joseph Brauer and I have been an Atheist my whole life, though going to a catholic grammar and high school. I have always thought that belief in the superstitious and/or god(s)/religion was absolutely silly and see no need for any of it.

I am a very outspoken Atheist and thoroughly enjoy heated debates/discussions with Theists. I began my outspokenness in 2nd grade and it went down hill from there.

I believe that it is about time that Atheist become more outspoken for our own rights.

How long have you been an Atheist/Agnostic?
Since birth? I'm not sure exactly. I was dragged to church when I was young till about the time when my mother and father divorced about half way thought high school. It took at least two people to wake me up on Sunday mornings my guess.

What was the turning point for you converting to Atheism/Agnosticism?
About half way though reading Camus's the rebel I became Really...Really atheist. Camus is a different kind of atheist then the head liners of today. A bit more existential, but still as out spoken.

How did you hear about us?
I prayed to the internet gods by typing my prayer into google and the server deity and google index retrieved an answer to my question.

What is your ideal atheist group?
A combination between Gandhi's Satagrapha and the activist methods of ACTUP. Sitting around and talking is also good. Tho something like my experience with the American legion would be a good start. A social net to promote group solidarity. I'm a bit idealistic, so its good to have people around that will shatter my unrealistic pipe dreams.

Hello, morning south suburbs. I just signed up today. I'm hoping this isn't a dead group. There hasn't been much recent activity here. Well i'm planing on going to the reason rally in DC and I'm seeing if anyone else is as well. I'm probably going to take the charter bus there, unless a few people are car pulling. Anyway hope to here from ya.
