I plan on going to check it out.
Comment by Matthew Moshier on September 18, 2012 at 9:51am I am in Bath which is about 45 minutes north of Portland. Maybe if we had smaller groups around New England and had one big meeting once a year or every other year. I am going to try and start something around here and go from there.
Comment by Matthew Michaud on September 18, 2012 at 7:24am We attend the Upper Valley Humanists meetup group. I am not sure where in Maine you are, but if you get on meetup.com and check your area for the phrases atheist, skeptic, humanist, freethinker, etc. you might find some options. If you start one near the northern NH border we would attend.
Comment by Matthew Moshier on September 18, 2012 at 7:05am I just want to get involved in a secular group but not sure how or what group to join. People go to church every week and get there heads filled with nonsense. I want to offer a place too where people can meet once a week or twice a month to discuss and hopefully fill heads with rational information instead. A church of Reason? It most likely would not last long would it?
Comment by Matthew Moshier on September 18, 2012 at 6:58am Looking for other atheist Mainers. I enjoy studying/discussing history, science, secularism, but surrounded by theists who don't seem to care about these things. I am just tired of feeling like I am the only atheist around where I live. It would be great to find others who want to meet up once a month or every other month.

Comment by Larian LeQuella on September 9, 2012 at 8:37am Don't be freaked out if a stranger sends you a friend request. I just like to expand my network of rational people. :)
