If you're a freethinker who loves the cause, (EQUAL RIGHTS and TOLERANCE) here's your group! (This group isn't actually affiliated with any of these groups; we just support them. If there's no lawsuit life is good. =) )

The idea of this site is support of equal rights for everyone, not to exclude LGBTQ/GLBTQ. We are one humanity.
So these are the acronyms for (some of) the groups that help the cause:
PFLAG: Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (If you love or care about a LGBT person [or recognize it's right] join this group. It lobbies.)
GLSEN: Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network (< My daughter Jacqui was president at her highschool. I am SO PROUD of her!!!!! )
GSA: Gay/Straight Alliance
LGBTQ (or GLBTQ, whichever you prefer): Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Questioning...or Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender and Questioning...or whatever pecking order ya like...hopefully point is made that it's to respect everyone, and recognize that every American deserves equal treatment under the law. Period.
Last point: I do not intend to censor or prohibit any contribution from anyone on this site in any way. So, be prepared for a breadth of opinions. Probably not too bad here, but still may occur. Please respond respectfully or ignore as appropriate. Remember that some are friends, and some are curious or interested. And some may not like you simply because you are different from them--and you may not be able to change that, although it's fair game to try. Some people are going to be abrasive and nasty, as in life. You create your own impression. The impression you create will influence others. Attack the opinion, not the person. I apologize if I’m reiterating what you already know. Ok, so jump in!

Having not been brought up with religion,it took me a while before I even knew that the religions were against gays. I remember when I was little, my father making a comment about priests liking the choirboys, so I didn't get it and at first equated it with paedophilia. I did get that other straight guys were afraid and repelled by the idea of two men together, and yet not two women. I guess, having been mostly raised by 2 of my older sisters, I saw it in the form of competition, and, being straight, felt that it was no ones business what 2 consenting adults did, and had no fear of them. And as a straight guy raised by my older sisters, I can totally understand the appeal of women. Men repel me, and I do not understand why they could be attracted to men, even me.

I don't know why religious zealots tend to bash homosexuality. (Or any sexuality.) Fear, probably. Or some sort of primal wiring that will not allow them to accept any one who is different than they are as equal to them? Dunno, don't get it. But it makes me mad.
