Most of us afford death with dignity to our beloved pets. It would make little sense to do so for them and not ourselves should the circumstances become hopeless enough.
Thank you for posting this. Part of my ardent support for personal choice in all matters of health includes the choice for everyone to have the option of a humane death, with dignity and hopefully without pain, WHEN they choose. And ONLY IF they so choose.
And I should add - I am proud that I voted for the Washington State referendum in favor of the option, and that it is now lawfully available in my state for anyone who needs to make that difficult decision.
