I appreciate the videos above, but it is a lot of the same--politically active people reciting the same platitudes and cliches. If there is going to be a solution to the dispute between Israelis and Palestinians, it has to take place on many other levels,, besides geopolitical negotiations. Any rapprochement should take place on an individual level between people, focusing more on what they have in common than what divides them.

It is certainly taking place in the arts. I thought I'd add this video as an example.

Excellent video. I hope many people watch it. We need many more stories like this, but each one counts. I also suggest watching the song that these two exceptional ladies did for Eurovision:

Here's another great story, which was written up by Thomas Friedman in Sunday's New York Times. http://www.nytimes.com/2010/08/08/opinion/08friedman.html?_r=2&...

The film was screened in Israel, but I don't think it is available in the US yet. It will be doing the festival circuit this autumn. Still, it is very worth seeing when it becomes available. I am proud to say I had a small part in it, redoing the subtitles last week for a North American audience.
Thanks for the link. I love what Friedman says at the end "if you still want to be a critic (as I do), be a constructive one. A lot more Israelis and Palestinians will listen to you". By the way, congratulations for your work on the film!
Another one by Mira Awad, this one with Israeli composer Idan Reichel (he is the guy with the dreads and the turban). Reichel is famous for doing music that transcends the multiethnic boundaries of Israei society, and has worked with everyone from the Ethiopian community to the Black Hebrews, with some stunning results. Music is one of the best ways to transcend boundaries.

Thanks Al-Kadim. Mira Awad seems to be an amazing artist.
