"When I found out you were an atheist, it didn't change how I felt about you, it changed how I felt about atheism."

You may have heard about it already… the internet has been quietly buzzing about this for the last two weeks. Well, the wait is over. WeAreAtheism.com is officially open and wants you to share your videos and stories with them and the rest of the world. Come and check out popular atheist speakers like Hemant Mehta (The Friendly Atheist), JT Eberhard (SSA – WWJTD.org), Greta Christina (AlterNet), and Jen McCreight (BlagHag.com) tell their stories about atheism and how it’s changed their lives for the better.

This is your chance to finally be heard. This is our chance to stand up, speak out, and be counted. We want to provide a platform for atheists around the globe to see that they are not alone. Atheists come in all shapes, sizes, ages, and backgrounds. The only thing that we all have in common is that we don’t see any credible evidence to believe  in a god. It’s ok to be an atheist, and we want the world to know.

I'll make sure to visit the site.
Thanks, join the Facebook group here: http://www.facebook.com/WeAreAtheism
I liked the site.  Women seem to be sadly under-represented in the Atheist Community, so it's good to see this is changing.  I noticed a convention in Fargo on Sept 24th but that's 500 miles away for me...too bad.  The speaker line-up sounds terrific, however.  Maybe it could be made available online?
Thanks,Mojo. We try and put as many women on as we can. I think we have 4 0r 5 now. We are adding more. Debbie Goddard from CFI and Amanda Marcotte will be up this next week. You can submit your own video by following the instructions here: http://www.weareatheism.com/upload-video/

You mistake me for somebody who knows how to make a video of myself...ha.  I'm just an observer at this point.  I'm not comfortable with the technology or with the thought of being so public and 'exposed' on the web.  I'm one of those 'meek and mild' atheists....ha.

But I admire the people that are paving the way ahead.  Maybe some day I'll feel more comfortable.
