Music is a huge part of my life, it has influenced me, moved me, washed me over with emotions and provoked thought. What songs are your favorite, (lets say top 3) that align with your views of nontheism?
Mine are:
Hurt - Adonai
A Perfect Circle - Judith
Tool - Eulogy

REM - Losing my religion
That was a much tougher question than I first thought. I was going to put sympathy for the devil on the list, but that technically requires a theist viewpoint. Most of my music doesn't relate to atheism at all, but some of it (living on a prayer, keep the faith, stairway to heaven, the seeker etc) can be related to theism and I do have a lot of Alice Cooper, which some might class as christian music.
Permalink Reply by GOD'aye on December 18, 2012 at 7:31pm A heap of Frank Zappa songs like; "Catholic Girls", "Cosmik Debris", "Jesus Thinks You're A Jerk", "Inca Roads", "Can't Afford No Shoes","Andy Devine", "Pojama People" and all the tracks on the album "Have I Offended Someone", "Stink Foot", "Joes Garage".
Guns & Roses: "Out Ta Get Me", "You're Crazy"
These songs all had a big influence on my world-view.

Wooden Jesus on the album Temple of the Dog by Temple of the Dog (Mainly members of Soundgarden and Pearl Jam). Massive rock sound with an acerbic take on commercialism of religion.

I also like The Parting Glass (traditional Irish, which I want played when they bury me or pitch the fiddleboard seaward in a burial-at-sea).
