we're not just imagining this.  this article was written by someone who experienced it first hand.  we're on a dangerous path, and one of the most important questions we need ask ourselves is can it be stopped?  have we reached the tipping point?

the answer may come in November.  if the GTP (Grand Theocratic Party) loses heavily perhaps they will revisit their strategy.  although, i'm not sure how well that would go over with their God-addicted masses.

now, let's imagine the frightening alternative.  what if Gingrich or Santorum pulls off a win?  what if the GTP holds their own this November in other races?  it would be validation that this is what the masses want.  they would want a Christian version of Pakistan (pick your Muslim state).  i'm not so foolish as to think it would happen overnight.  and it's possible that the attempts to make this a true Christian Nation would be rejected once the agenda became clearer.

but by then it might be too late.  if, in the name of God, you believe that you are doing what is in his best interest, you can justify nearly anything.  i will personally be voting for Obama, but these words sound safer by the minute:  "President Mit Romney".

It's all too true Matthew, thanks for that post, scary though it was.  I seriously cannot believe the amount of support Sanitorium is getting.  It is horrifying.  My mom and I keep saying IF we had to have one of these scary, scary candidates as president, Mit Romney is the lesser of all the evils.  That's scary enough in and of itself.  What the hell is WRONG with people!!!!

at least we know that Mormonism won't take over the country!

as for your question - this is totally unrelated by way of an answer, but it may clue you into the minds of who the GTP supporters are.  i'm sure you've heard similar stories, but this article chilled me to the bones:  http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/nation/la-na-kansas-abortio...

Good for her for stepping-up for women's rights.  What a scary mentality those freaks have.  I just don't believe that mentality will ever go away.  Too dumb, too radical.

Exactly the way I feel and think.  I cannot get over the lack of outrage about this kind of religious litmus test gaining ground with the general public.  It is practically expected of presidential candidates to 'prove' their Christianity.  I agree that we citizens want to know about a candidates opinions and 'moral fiber', so to speak, but specific religious affiliation should be kept as private as possible!  (There is also no attention being paid to 'faith based initiatives'....another subject...but just as insidious to the Separation of Church and State.)

The ski slope on which Santorum wants to drag the US down is, admittedly, steep. Romney, with a Republican Congress, would take us down a milder grade, but ending up in the same swamp.  Just because the president wears magic underwear versus believing in transubstantiation doesn't mean the rascist teabaggers and theo-fascists won't stop in their push for a christian version of sharia law in the US. And when the screams for "Jesus Law" become louder and louder, which they will, Romney's hands will be tied by their belief he's not a christian and by his desire for a second term. The combination will have him pandering to the scum that put him in in the first place.

I'm not so deluded to think Romney or any of the Republicans (save maybe Paul who doesn't stand a chance) will be any better than Santorum. Pick your poison. The only difference is one appears rational in a business suit, while the other rabidly drools at the mouth in a sweater vest.

You're right Pat, but IF I had to chose, it'd still be Romney.  Maybe it would give people with reason more time to fight the morons' mentality?  Let's just hope Obama stays where he is!  And the sweater-vest thing, lol.  What is up with that?

I think his attire is a throwback to the fantasy world of Ward, June, Wally and the Beaver. Bill Maher's comment about Santorum as "Christ-y McSweater Vest" was spot on.

i laughed my ass off when i heard Maher call him that.

ha ha ha!  I hadn't heard that!  I can't wait to tell my Mom and Daughter! :)

"He really doesn't like condoms. He said if men are going to pull something on to prevent procreation, nothing works better that a sweater vest." -Bill Maher

I love Bill Maher.
